What are the benefits of neutering a cat?

Posted: February 27th, 2009 | Filed under: Cat Behavior | 10 Comments »

rend asked:

I have a male cat who is strictly a house cat (never goes outside.) I have two female cats who are already “fixed” and I want to know if it’s really necessary to take my male cat in to get neutered. What are the pros/cons (if any) of doing this to my cat?
PLEASE READ THE FULL QUESTION BEFORE YOU GIVE ME A STUPID ANSWER!

I can’t find anything that tells me exactly what a ferrell cat is. I believe I saw a picture of one and it looked just like a Tabby. Can someone answer these questions for me? Thanks

Is all clumping cat litter potentially harmful to cats?

leona8522 asked:

So, I heard cats can sometimes ingest clumping cat litter and this can cause impactions in their lungs. Is this true for all clumping cat litter or only non-natural clumping cat litter like scoop away? Like does the world’s best cat litter pose this same risk to cats or not since its made of corn?

How can I train a cat from pet sheets to a litter box?

meilin h asked:

I was given a 3-year-old sphinx cat the other month. The previous owner trained the cat on those gel sheets, and I want to retrain the cat to use a littler box instead. How can I manage that? The cat doesn’t seem to know what to do with the litter and doesn’t like the feel of littler under its toes.

How can I help my new cat adjust to my other cats?

Minnie-Aladdin asked:

About a month ago I adopted a four year old cat from a co-worker who was moving and could not take him with her. He has gotten along with other cats in the past. I have three other cats ages four, two and one. I have been introducing them to each other slowly providing treats when I do. I have also brushed each of them with same brush to get each used to each others scent. My problem is that they still seem to not get a long. I do not feel that I can leave my new cat have the run of the house yet with my other two. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.
