    Adora-?
    Simon-?

everything seems fine except for the pulling out the hair

He sounds fairly normal for a cat. A little slow maybe. You should see a vet about the hair pulling thing. The claws stuck in the carpet tho, means its time to trim them. You need to trim a cats claws once a week.

You should be worried about the hair loss. If it’s an allergy, it could get really uncomfortable for him, and it might turn out to be an easily fixed problem. Please take him for a vet for that!

I’m concerned about him being clumsy as to fall off things a *lot* (it can happen to any cat once in a while, but it sounds like this is more than usual), and that he does not seem to track moving objects completely – it makes me wonder if he has some visual or inner ear impairment, or perhaps neurological problem. If it is a neurological problem, then the over-grooming/hair loss issue could be related, or it could be separate allergy issues (although if his allergies are severe enough, I would not be surprised to find out that they were the root cause of all his trouble.

Him being moody, changing his mind about getting attention right in the middle of that – well that’s a pretty common thing among cats. Sometimes it is because they get overwhelmed, sometimes they just are like that.

Do consult with a veterinarian about this – if it makes you feel better, keep a log of how often you see him overgrooming, or falling off stuff to take with you, and it is never wrong to make a list of all the little details and symptoms you see. Yeah, some of them may be pretty ordinary, not something to worry about, but it’s good to line up all the facts and let the vet decide which are relevant.

Ok- first of all you need to treat the fleas. Many cats are very allergic to flea bites. Please don’t buy flea stuff from the store, though. Most of it is worthless & some has caused serious burns &/or seizures in cats.
Advantage or Frontline are available at the vet’s office.

Your cat either does not see very well or has a neurologic disorder.

I have a cat with cerebellar hypoplasia. Her movements are stiff & wobbly & her head bobs a lot. Her eyes are always dialated, too. I’ve had her since she was 4 weeks old & she’s 11 now. No one told her she was handicapped & she doesn’t seem to care.
This disorder can range from very mild (like you describe) to very severe.
There’s lots of imformation available if you run a search.
Only a vet can give you a good diagnosis though, so it’s time for a check up. While you’re there ask them to show you how to clip your cat’s nails.

As far as the lovey one minute & off the next, well… that’s just part of being a cat.
