Boo asked:
If I breed my Himalayan kitty with a grey shorthaired cat, will that make a Siamese? I just want to know because they are super cute cats, and I wish I could make one with the two cats I already have. You know, so I don’t get a lemon.

My Siamese is 10 years old and a spayed female and will spray the walls and carpet when the little box is nearby. We clean the litter box everyday. I have another cat that is a 2 year old male Tabby (neutered) and we do not have this problem with him. We just moved into a new house and she is already destroying our carpet. Both cats are strictly indoors so placing them outside is not an option. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

I have a 7 month old siamese and he was recently at my bf’s house where his mom has 4 cats. He hit it off with one of them and they played all day. He tends to have a ton of energy and its hard to get him to calm down unless he just woke up. Should I bring his mom’s cat up to my place for him?

I just got a female Siamese cat from a lady today. She has been hiding under my bed and growls a lot. I do have 2 other cats she has met ages 8 months and 4 months. She will let me pick her up and pet her for only a few minutes at a time. What way can I make it easier for her to get adjusted ?

OK here’s the deal: I have a Siamese cat that is constantly scratching his neck. This condition started about 2 years ago when he started scratching so much that he cut his neck open. There was blood everywhere. I took him to the vet, and the vet put a cone on him. We put him on antibiotics and steroids and special cat food.
Well, he’s still scratching, 2 years later. He doesn’t have fleas and the vet can’t figure out what’s wrong with him. He’s still on his prescription cat food. I have a hepa filter vacuum cleaner, a special air filter for my heater/air conditioner. He has never once has been outside or around other animals. Any ideas?
No he doesn’t have fleas, He’s on perscription food, and i’ve been to 2 different vets.

My 12 year old siamese cat loves people but not other cats. We brought home a 2 year old bengal about 1 1/2 months ago. The 12 year old attacks the bengal at least 5 times a days even when the bengal is sleeping. I do not want to use drugs at all to fix this problem. Do you have a suggestions to help?

My father has a pure breed Chocolate Siamese cat and the cat has chewed all the fur off the inside of his back legs. Does anyone know of anything that would make him do this? The cat is a male and is 8 yrs old.

Celine S asked:
I am considering adopting a siamese cat. I was wondering if there is any difference between their characters.
I am particularly hesitating between flame and blue points, but if anyone has any other insights, that would be great!!
For example, I heard flames are real lovers and blue points might be a little more shy. Seal points are said to be divas.
Any explanation would be appreciated, so I can decide which cat would work best for me!!
Thank you.
update:
I adopted the blue point siamese. He is truly adorable: very talkative (especially at night), curious, loves attention and demands it. He still hides under the bed at any new sound/person coming in my room. But except that, he has the real siamese personality. Very intelligent (he found/opened the treats I gave him once) and so far a picky eater. (He seem to only like chicken food and treats. Give him tuna and he looks at you with a reproachful look and refuses to touch it.)
Thanks for all your answers!

I have always loved them and was searching on the internet at the various catteries for prices just to get an idea but mostly I came up with nill. I guess I have to call them and talk to them. I did find a site that advertises the sphinx cats and those guys run between 1200.00 and 1500.00 american dollars. Does anyone out there have a siamese cat? Write and tell me, ok?
Many thanks for the great input. I’ll contact a local breeder and keep you posted. I currently have 2 cats (one’s a Bobtail) ; I fear one might not be with me much longer and when the time’s is such that it’s just me and my Bobtail, I’ll want a Siamese. I’ve heard they’re very chatty and I would love that. The little Bobtail is highly friendly and social. I typically get animals from the local pound; this has been most successful and satisfying but I might indulge. Again my heartfelt thanks…
