Nikklas V asked:
So this cat has this small hairless patch on its underbelly, near one of its elbows. there was this brown thing partially lodged beneath the skin. I pulled oen of these out last year, and there was no problem. The cat infact seemed happy to have it out.
This time, i got it out and this time at the bottom, a bit of skin, or what looks like skin, followed it out. Now it looks like a small ***** (about a mm or two long). Movement of the skin around it makes the thing start sliding back into the hole. When it goes in the hole, you can feel it as a bump beneath the skin.
I dont know what is wrong with her. But its pretty gross and I’d like to know what it is. If anyone has had instances like this with their pets, please tell me!

Sukie asked:
please don’t laugh at this, i’m serious. okay, he’s a young cat. about 2 years. he seems healthy enough, he can run and play like any normal cat, it’s not really the physical that’s the problem.
it’s just that, he falls off of things a lot, like he’s clumsy. VERY clumsy. he’ll be walking on a table or a bed, and WHOOPS! he just slips off.
when he walks on the carpet, he always gets his claws stuck, like as if he doesn’t know how to walk on the carpet without doing that.
he rips his hair out a lot, he’ll be grooming and he’ll just start ripping his own hair out, or he’ll chew himself until he’s raw. (this we think might be an allergy, and partially fleas too, but also, we think it could be nerves possibly…..) but yeah, my cat’s partially hairless right now because of this.
this kinda thing happens sometimes, when we try to play with him with toys and such, he’s very slow, like you swing something in front of him for him to play with, it’ll swing past him, and he’s still looking in the direction it originally was in. like, he was too slow to see it fly past him. and then he can’t catch these things very much at all. he’s lucky if he gets it.
finally, he seems bipolar. one second, he’s mashing his face into your hand for your attention, the very next second he wants nothing to do with you.
could my kitty just be a little slow, clumsy, stupid, lazy, nervous, and a little bipolar? or do you think he has something wrong with him?
i know you can’t really diagnose him on here, and many of you aren’t vets. but if you can help in any way, it’d be greatly appreciated! :D thank you in advance!
so that whole slow, kinda dopey thing isn’t a problem? just like people? haha jk
yeah, we wanna go to see a vet about his hair, we think he may have allergies, and he may need allergy shots or something. how much, in general, do these shots cost, if you happen to know?

Blondie asked:
It is almost hairless. It has longer hair that runs along it’s chest and underbelly. It almost appears to be a type of sphinx. It is suppose to be a rare breed.
I saw this on the news. some woman found a male and a female. They appear sphinx like except with hair like a lions mane under the chin all the way down the underbelly. I just want to know what kind of cat it is.

*Future Veterinarian* asked:
ok, i’m asking this b/c i have never seen hairless kittens before, and my calico cat had 2 two days ago. this is her first litter, and she had them outside in a shed during some temporarily warm weather we had. when i found the litter, one of the hairless kittens was alive, and besides being fairly cold, was doing pretty well. the other one, well, i think the mother ate most of it b/c all i could find were little ***** paws and other somewhat graphic materials (yuck!) i am assuming it died during birth and was ate along w/the sacks. i picked up the babies to check all their health (they were fine) it has some hair, but more to the likeness of peach fuzz. today when i checked on them, only the hairy kits were left. i think the mother would not accept the oddballs, and so killed them. i have some pics i can add on photobucket, but it will take me a while. anyway, they were all about the same size (the hairless ones could’nt have been more than 2 wks younger at max) i thought that all …
…kittens in a litter were concieved at generally the same time? if the babies were not growing properly, i would think that all the kittens would have suffered. i do not think that they were born prematurely, as they seemed fully developed besides fur. also, i do not think the male was a hairless variety of cat, b/c they were born right at the begining of spring, and were likely concieved at the dead of winter (no ***** cats, strays or not, can survive the cold long enough to mate and make it back “home”) i’ve never even heard of any ***** cat’s around here. i was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what could have caused ths in the 2 cats, but noot the other 3? is it perhaps a genetic mutation. bt the way, they looked like huge rat babies when i first looked at them! lol!
the pics should be uploaded to this site http://s178.photobucket.com/albums/w245/furureveterinarian/
the red stuff on the stumoch is the umbilical cord (he’s only a few hours old in this pic) and the fuzziness on his head is his mothers hair stuck to the dried membrane (i don’t think she cleaned him as well as the other’s)
also, he’s alove in these pics in case anyone can’t tell, and he acted about normal, but a little weak. he did not cry, but when i layed him next to the other kits, he huddled between them for warmth.

My boyfriend has really bad allergies. We are considering a cat more than a dog right now. Does anyone know if a cat besides a hairless one that is less allergenic??

asked:
I have wanted a kitten for a while, but my sister is allergic, and I cant have anything that sheds, but i **** the hairless ones. My dad just told me that they just created an allergy free cat. I dont want a bald cat though! What is a somewhat inexpensive cat that has MINIMAL TO NO shedding, and could possibly not pose a problem to my sister?
my sister is also on an allergy pill cingulair (not sure about spelling!) and hasn’t been around cats since she got on that, so could that help her?

~*Mrs. GM2*~ asked:
Yesterday I noticed a bare patch of skin on my cat’s neck and a deep sore about the size of a nickel right in the middle of the hairless patch that looked like it went through to his throat. The soar was open without a scab and it appeared to have a sticky yellow pus layer over it. He’s an adult male outdoor cat – 3 years old. he also had two other bare patches on him, but no other sores. Anyone have any idea what this could be? Thanks for your time, God bless!

sr01865 asked:
Hi- my cat has a black, rough, kind of raised birthmark looking thing on her front left paw, hairless, it looks dry/flakey at times, with just a few hairs growing thru it. She is a completey indoor cat, however it doesnt look like its there bc she lays on it all the time. It kind of looks like the vet shaved her for an iv? possibly during her spaying, but the rest of her tummy hair is growing back, I dont know why her arm would create a weird dime-sized scab/scar? She does not excessivly lick or claw the spot, so why isnt it healing? These are just guesses.. lol I have no clue! anyone seen this before? have any guesses?
